What is mentoring and how does it differ from counselling / therapy?

Mentoring focuses on helping individuals navigate their current situation and move forward with clarity and purpose. Sessions often focus on practical strategies, personal growth, communication, decision-making and creating positive change.

While reflection on past experiences may come up, the primary focus of mentoring is the present and future, helping people take ownership, build healthier patterns and move toward the life they want to create.

Counselling and therapy are typically provided by qualified mental health professionals and often focus more deeply on emotional healing, trauma and psychological treatment.

Our ongoing mentoring support also includes follow ups between sessions, practical tools, resources, follow-ups and accountability to help individuals implement what they are working on in real life.

If someone requires clinical or therapeutic support, we always encourage seeking help from the appropriate qualified professionals.

What practical support do you offer?

Our practical support is designed to help people navigate the real-life tasks and decisions that often come with major life changes.

1:1 practical support sessions provide hands-on assistance in flexible sessions. This may include guidance, helping organise information, researching options, preparing documents or forms, and assisting with practical steps that can often feel overwhelming when handled alone.

We also provide practical tools and resources, including the Separation Guide and Separation Kit, which are designed to help individuals and organisations better understand the practical steps involved in separation. These resources provide clear information, structure and tools that help people move through the process with greater clarity and confidence.

Who do you support?

We support individuals, parents and families who are navigating life challenges such as separation, co-parenting, personal growth, communication challenges and rebuilding direction in life.

A key focus of our work is supporting parents going through separation and co-parenting transitions, helping them create healthier communication and more stable environments for their children.

We also provide specialised mentoring and support for fathers, recognising the unique challenges many dads face around identity, connection with their children and navigating major life changes.

While many of our clients are parents, our mentoring, resources and programs are open to anyone seeking support, clarity and practical guidance during difficult transitions or periods of growth.

I am separated, but am not a parent. Can you still support me?

While many of our online resources are designed specifically for parents, we also support individuals who are navigating separation without children involved.

We can still provide guidance, practical support and mentoring to help you work through the emotional and practical aspects of separation, rebuild direction and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Do you work with both parents through a separation?

Yes, in some situations we can work with both parents.

If both parties are open to support and communication is respectful, we can assist both individuals separately or together where appropriate.

Our priority is always the wellbeing of the children and helping parents move toward calmer, healthier communication.

Do I have to be separated to work with you?

No.

While many people reach out during separation or co-parenting challenges, others come to us for support with communication, personal growth, relationships, parenting challenges or major life changes.

Our focus is helping people move forward in a healthy and constructive way.

What other life transitions can you support people through, both practically and from a mindset perspective??

While many of our resources have been developed to support parents navigating separation, the practical tools and systems we provide can also assist people facing other major life transitions.

We are continuing to expand our support to help families experiencing different challenges, including situations such as bereavement or significant changes in family structure.

If you are going through a different situation and are looking for guidance or practical support, we still encourage you to reach out. We are always open to discussing how we may be able to help or point you in the right direction.

How do sessions take place?

Most sessions take place online via video call, allowing people to access support from anywhere.

In some cases, face-to-face sessions or community meetups may also be available depending on location.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes, everything shared in our sessions is confidential unless disclosure is required by law (e.g., safety concerns).

Do you give legal or financial advice?

No.

While we can provide general guidance and share practical insights, we do not provide legal or financial advice.

If needed, we may recommend speaking with qualified professionals such as lawyers, mediators or financial advisors.

Can I contact my mentor between sessions??

In many cases, our mentoring packages or multi-session support options include limited communication between sessions for clarification, guidance and accountability.

You will be advised of the appropriate guidelines, including the times and availability for this communication, which is generally within set hours and days to ensure support remains structured and manageable.

What happens if I miss a session?

Sessions can usually be rescheduled with appropriate notice. The specific requirements for rescheduling are outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

If the required notice is not provided, the session may be forfeited in line with those terms.

Do you work internationally?

Yes.

Because most sessions are online, we can support people internationally.
